As we start the new year, we’re sharing an employee spotlight and seeing what our team is looking forward to in the upcoming months. We caught up with one of our employee research specialists to find out what he’s excited about for this year – both in and outside of work.

As I’ve only recently moved to London (having spent about 18 months in our Manchester office), my goal this year is to make more of my friendship circle in the south and build myself more of a life in the city.
I am very excited for this year, as I hope it represents a bit of a turning point; on a global scale from the momentum created by social trends such as the #metoo movement and effective giving, along with a political move towards universal basic income; the scientific breakthroughs particularly in fields such as climate change; and on a local scale the pace of technological change in our industry (and at ORC!) is creating new avenues for progress, measurement and insight.
It will be interesting to see how this year pans out, but (at the risk of sounding a little cliché) I believe it will only be what I hope it to be if societies are able to capitalise on the opportunities presented to be a safer, fairer and more insightful society.
It’s true to say that engagement is always changing, and so is the society that every workplace exists – even if it’s just slightly. It will be exciting to see how much things have changed by the end of the year – and how those New Year’s resolutions have gone!
